pro artist tip of the week – the natural lip

for what seems like forever the nude lip has been a go-to.  sultry eyes and nude lips is a look to be relied on.  and while the nude lip is still a great option, we also like the natural lip.  what’s the difference?  The natural lip is exactly what it sounds like – a lip color that looks like lips.  it’s not overstated or understated.  it’s easy, pretty, and it's a great go-to lip option for your day-to-day makeup needs.  here are some tips to help you with your natural lip look.

-a good natural lip provides a flush of color.  for most people it is one shade darker than their natural lip color.

-what eye makeup should you wear with the natural lip?  it’s up to you.  however, if your eye makeup is subtler, bump up your blush!

-there is not one hue of the natural lip.  your natural lip shade depends on your skintone.  for some it’s a brown, for others it’s a light pink, etc.

-what to try?  try a lip & cheek stain in cherry, yumberry, or coconut.    also, the lipglazes are always a great go-to because they are sheer and provide a nice punch of color on the lips.

last week stila sponsored the daily candy event at fred segal in santa monica.  this jam-packed occasion was full of fun for everyone who attended.  what more could you ask for than food, shopping, blowouts, manicures, and stila makeovers?!  it’s no wonder people didn’t want to leave! 


the stila team had such a great time working with everyone at the party.  we used our new sparkle waterproof liquid eyeliners to add some light and beauty to everyone’s night.  they were a huge hit!  people loved them in all colors – whether they tried the bold electric teal or went more neutral with the rock candy brown shade.  thanks to all who attended.


btw, how cute are those lollipops?!  the perfect accent to our new summer lip glazes!!!

easter makeup ideas

the easter holiday is approaching.  this weekend many of you will probably be dying eggs, visiting the easter bunny, going to family dinners, and more.  how fun!  in need of makeup help for these events?  we have it. 

-a pastel lip is a must.  it reflects the colors of the season.  smile when you wear it and share your happiness with others.  not sure what color to use?  we love the new lip glaze shades – try bubblegum or mulberry!

-keep the eyes simple with bold liner and minimal shadow.  we suggest prime pot all over the eyes and sequins sparkle waterproof liquid eyeliner.  this combo will highlight your eyes without looking like too much makeup.

-lastly, don’t forget your cheeks.  a good blush makes you look healthy, happy, and polished.  for this occasion a natural flush of color is perfect.  you can achieve this with the custom color blush.  we love this blush.  it works like a charm every time, on everyone.

stila’s classic lip glaze has always been a favorite among celebrities, tia mowry being one of them.  us weekly just featured some of tia’s must-haves, including our very own banana lip glaze!  we love banana for a great nude lip, and we especially love the new shades of lip glaze that debuted for summer.  these sorbet shades are the icing on the cake to any makeup look!
