here are some tips to make the most of this foundation:

-apply it with the #33 brush for an airbrushed finish.
-start in the center of the face where you need the most coverage, blend from there.
-layer the foundation where needed for more coverage.
-for a matte finish, top with illuminating powder foundation.

pro artist tip of the week – curl those lashes

at stila we love great looking lashes.  and most of the time, great lashes begin with a nice curl.  some of us are simply blessed with lashes that curl on cue.  however, others need to work for that curl.  since most of us need a little help to get our lashes curled, here are some helpful tips.

use an eyelash curler.  don’t be afraid of this useful tool.  it can lift the lashes in no time.  avoid clamping for minutes creating a harsh line in the lashes.  instead, try clamping for a few seconds and move up the lashes and clamp again for a more subtle, natural curl.

add in individual lashes.  individual lashes can create the illusion of curl, especially on the outer half of the eye.  try adding a few flares the next time you need your lashes to look amazing.

coat with the right mascara.  we love stila’s forever your curl mascara for fluffy, curled lashes.  this mascara is a must-have anyone who’s lashes lose curl easily.  plus the pigment is amazing!

stila was honored to be part of the emmy festivities.  we teamed up with hbo to provide on site touchups at their amazing emmy after party.  this party was definitely the place to be if you wanted to hang with in crowd.  we loved seeing our favorite celebs from tv’s hottests shows.  check out these fun photos from the night!

sofia vergara looked stunning.  we loved the color and think anyone could recreate her red carpet glow with custom color coral and mango crush topped with serenade long wear lip color.


julie bowen’s classic smoky eye and nude lip is perfect on the red carpet.  it’s easy to recreate with the darker shades of the in the light palette and in the nude long wear lip color!



lastly, who doesn’t love lea michele?  we do.  she hit a homerun with her makeup.  You can too with a little stay all day liquid eyeliner in black and peony convertible color.  works like a charm – every time!

pro artist tip of the week – contour those cheek bones!

makeup artists have several tricks up their sleeves when they are enhancing people’s features.  and contouring is one secret weapon to be relied on always.  why?  it helps make the most of your features in no time, specifically the cheekbones!   want cheekbones as well?  we have three must-have products that you can contour with daily.

stila sun bronzer.  dust this on the hollow of your cheeks to create a shadow/contour.  the velvet matte texture is ideal for shading. 

kitten all over shimmer. brush this shimmer along the cheekbone, creating a soft highlight.  this draws the light to the correct part of your face and gives you instant cheekbones.

#24 brush.  this multitasker is perfect for contouring.  use the fluffy side with the bronzer and the small side with the shimmer.  it works like a charm everytime!
